Types of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are one of the most commonly utilized types of crane within the construction industry. They are used to construct everything from roadways and freeway overpasses to skyscrapers and buildings.

There is a huge variety of crane models, sizes and styles available on the market. There are lots of different kinds in order to serve a variety of different reasons within the industry. Choosing the best type of crane is vital for making sure that the material can be transported safely and efficiently to the location it has to get to in order for the construction process to start.

Truck Cranes
Typically, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are really helpful for building sites where a crane is needed in many different locations for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane is capable of being easily driven from one place to another.

Cranes could also be transported to different construction sites on the road because they drive themselves, which eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly lessens transport expenses at the end of the day.

The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane could handle. Therefore, in order to fix this issue, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure in order to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.

Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has big tracks on the base of the crane. These massive tracks are really similar to backhoes and bulldozers. The tracks allow the crane to successfully move around a construction site.
