Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Manitoba

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Manitoba

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also known as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to transport products and materials around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump that can raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single person.

To prevent loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated carefully. Equipment should be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make certain that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level located on the inside of the metal loop in order to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be centered in order to guarantee equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet ahead of you because the momentum can cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop abruptly. Gradually stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
