JLG Telehandlers Manitoba
After spending numerous years working with his brother to establish their crane manufacturing corporation into a leader of the business, John L. Grove decided to retire. John as well as his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by setting out on a cross-country journey in their recreational vehicle. After that trip, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the global leading producer of mobile aerial work platforms and specialized material handling equipment.
During the R.V. journey, John spent much of the time talking to prior business associates who the Groves stopped to visit along their journey. Tragically, while they visited the Hoover Dam, 2 workers were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. Through subsequent conversations, John saw a huge untapped market for a kind of machinery that could safely and quickly hoist people into the air in order to perform construction and maintenance work.
After John and his wife returned from the trip, John decided to take action. He and two close friends formed a partnership and then bought a small metal manufacturing company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, with an original team of 20 employees, the trio built and sold the very first JLG aerial work platform. Many parts of the basic design elements of that very first equipment are still being integrated into the current equipment
Ever since John L. Grove first drove back into town from his cross-country trip, the company has come a very long way. They have significantly grown since their first aerial work platform initially debuted on the marketplace. Even today, JLG continues to expand into additional global markets. Many innovative products are designed to help clients work safer and be more effective.
JLG has remained dedicated to being the leader in the business. The company takes operator comfort into account very seriously. They strive to deliver in performance, as well as safety and overall comfort so that the operator could be as productive as possible.
